What is involved?

By joining the Healthy Venue family you commit to establishing catering practices that support National Dietary Guidelines, encourage activity and wellness in your venue, and show a commitment to the health and wellness of your in-house team.

Why is it important?

Meetings and events are notorious for their ‘diet busting behaviours’, lack of healthy options, a general expectation of sitting while in sessions, consumption of sugary food and drinks, networking over drinks, and—in some cases—a lack of sunlight!

As a venue, you have the power to support everyone that passes through your doors to make healthier choices and improve their wellness.

  • Healthy meeting environments are proven to improve delegate productivity and leave them with a positive memory of the event.

  • This in turn delivers a positive experience for your clients…

  • which means repeat business, higher opinions of your venue spread through the event planner community via word-of-mouth, and another unique selling point to really make you stand out from the crowd!

How do we get accredited?

It is a straightforward process and our team will work with you through every step. Each award level has a set of specific criteria that need to be met. As you progress through Bronze, to Silver and then Gold, the criteria that you meet will deliver larger health and wellness benefits to everyone that comes through the doors of your venue.

Criteria and process

There are three levels of accreditation. As you’d expect, the criteria for Silver and Gold are more rigorous than for Bronze, but each one demonstrates a vital commitment to the health and wellbeing of visitors to your venue.

The Healthy Venue Award allows venues to apply for entry at any of the award levels. These are the costs:

Criteria Met Award Achieved Direct entry to Award level Upgrade to next level from entry level Yearly review and renewal
Bronze Bronze £1,500 £500 £500
Bronze + Silver Silver £1,900 £500 £500
Bronze + Silver + Gold Gold £2,300 £500

For example, if you wanted to become a Silver Healthy Venue

  • you could qualify for Bronze (by meeting the required Bronze criteria) and pay the £1,500 entry fee, then once the Silver criteria are met you can pay £500 to upgrade to Silver.

  • Or, you could meet the Bronze and Silver criteria at the same time and pay £1,900 to enter at Silver level.

We review each Healthy Venue every year and this costs £500 to maintain your accreditation.
